Cider Sunday at Wehr

Cider Sunday is a day of yummy fun at Wehr Nature Center in the midst of beautiful fall color. It’s a celebration of fall filled with cider (pressed right before your eyes), real apple butter cooked in an iron pot over an open fire, homemade cakes to win in an old fashioned Cake Walk, 10 varieties of apples to see and taste, apple crepes, apple slices covered in warm caramel syrup, and chocolate/apple brownies. It’s enough to inspire you to go home and bake an apple pie!

But wait – there’s more! The Cayuse Cowboys adds to the festive atmosphere with live rollicking songs while nature art and other items are raffled off. There are also new games and make & take crafts for the kids. But you don’t want to miss taking a quiet stroll through the color of Wehr’s woods, prairie, or lake areas. A naturalist will take you to the best spots.   

This day is sponsored by the Friends of Wehr who will be using a portion of the proceeds to contribute to the restoration of the Nature Center building which is need of paint-up/fix-up.
