When one tugs a single
thing in nature; he finds it attached to the rest of the world.
- John Muir
The Friends of Wehr is a 501(c)3 , nonprofit organization dedicated to
the support and promotion of the Wehr Nature Center and its environmental
education programs.
The Friends of Wehr provides the organization for people to make
donations directly to the Nature Center. Their ubiquitous support reaches
every aspect of Wehr from stewardship of natural areas to financial
support for kids programs to sponsorships of special events, summer
interns, Nature in the Parks, live animals, and professional development
for staff. The Friends also provided Wehr’s first permanent,
professionally constructed displays – 5 ecosystem interpretive trail
signs, and an indoor Soils Display in the Gardner Room. Outdoors, it is
and has been instrumental in the construction of almost 1 mile of
replacement and new boardwalk through the wetland.
